I've finally decided to change the format of my "weekly" blogs... given that I've probably repeated myself several times on many subjects I've decided to slow things down and only report on things in the news. I've been stirred into writing a new entry by the UKMA's (UK Metric Association) press release detailing their latest comments on road metrication.

This last two weeks the question of road signs has come up again... the UK question being raised again because a stretch of Interstate in Arizona (the I-19 which runs north from the Mexican border to Tuscon) is about to be de-metricated (Green Valley News & Sun: I-19 losing kilometer signs).

I'm not a fan of Rugby (Ice Hockey is my sport) but was pleasantly surprised when I hear reports last week of the BBC using metric to describe player weights... unfortunately those reports seem to be in the form of complaints from our old friends the national press (Daily Mail - Metric Maulers: Why does the BBC insist on weighing the British rugby players in kilograms?, Telegraph: BBC's metric weights in rugby coverage sparks anger)!
