Several significant events have occurred since my last scribblings... and it was only a few short hours after my last entry last week that I heard that the NWML (National Weights and Measures Laboratory) had published it's response on the recent consultation on pre-packaged goods sizes. |

Unless you've been living in a cave for the last year you can't help but have noticed that the world is changing in many ways, most significantly the fact that the leadership of possibly the most powerful country on the planet has changed. Prior to George W Bush being the US president there never seemed to be (or, at least, I don't recall) there being so much interest in the effect that the change will have on the rest of the world. |

A quiet week by my usual standards... probably mainly because I haven't really been out much this week so no road signs and no shopping. Instead I've had a chance to spend some time relaxing with a book. |

With the credit crunch kicking in and many people in Britain under threat of redundancy or shorter working hours many might believe that continuing metrication is nothing more than a waste of time and money that could be better used elsewhere... however I believe that Britain's slow and lumbering conversion is probably part of the problem! |
